In order to sustain high deliverability rates of custom delivery fields, Sense recommends updating DNS records to whitelist your domain.
Do I have to add these DNS records?
DNS records are added to a sub-domain (not main). As such, adding DNS entries will not effect mail delivery from your primary domain. Furthermore, making changes to a sub-domain protects sending reputation, overall reducing spam reputation and increasing black list monitoring.
Although optional, Sense highly recommends adding DNS records for whitelist in order to provide an optimal and smooth email delivery experience.
How do I add DNS records to my domain?
To add or update DNS records:
- Log into your domain's admin console.
- Navigate to the update/add DNS records page.
- Add the four DNS entries provided by your Customer Success Manager or Sense Support.
- Save changes.
- Once saved, please notify your Customer Success Manager or Sense Support for validation.
NOTE: Adding new DNS records may take up to 24-hours to propagate.
What exactly are the DNS entries I am adding?
Sense currently recommends adding four DNS entries:
- mail_server (mx)
- subdomain_spf (txt)
- dkim (txt)
- a_record (a)
Host and data information can be provided by your Customer Success Manager or Sense Support.
