Performance Improvements to Sense Influenced Placements and Submissions
Release Date: November 02, 2023
★ What’s New
We are excited to introduce a ‘new architecture’ for ROI metrics on the Performance Dashboard. Along with this architectural enhancement, we have resolved the following known issues in the system:
[1] Enhancing Accuracy and Consistency from ATS Field Updates:
We have transitioned to the new architecture that utilizes the more reliable placement tables, ensuring that all updates are considered for accurate ROI metrics. The new architecture ensures that ROI metrics are calculated more reliably when ATS fields related to placements and submissions are modified. This change ensures more accuracy in calculating Sense Influenced Placements and ROI metrics.
- Issue: Sometimes, the calculation of ROI metrics was inconsistent due to potential delays from the ATS Fields updates.
- Resolution: We have transitioned to the new architecture that utilizes the more reliable placement tables, ensuring more accuracy in calculating Sense Influenced Placements and ROI metrics.
[2] Failure to Update Stale Data:
For the performance dashboard, we only consider those placement records that meet the ROI Generation rules, which are customized per agency via the performance tab on the settings page for updating the ROI metrics. In the old architecture, certain placements that initially adhered to the generation rules were not updated if they no longer satisfied the ROI Generation rules, leading to the retention of stale data.
- Issue: Sometimes, the ROI metrics were not being updated for placements that no longer adhered to the ROI Generation rules, resulting in the retention of stale data.
- Resolution: We have implemented a solution that regularly refreshes the entire data on the new architecture, ensuring that all updates are considered and keeping the analytics up to date. This ensures that placements are excluded from metrics when they no longer comply with ROI Generation rules and provides more accuracy in ROI metrics.
These key improvements make the new architecture more reliable and efficient, ensuring that ROI metrics accurately reflect the current state of the data and align with your expectations without the need for manual interventions or data regenerations.

▶ Key Benefits of New Architecture
The new architecture for ROI Metrics provides the following improvements:
- Data Accuracy: The new architecture ensures that ROI metrics are calculated more reliably when ATS fields related to placements and submissions are changed.
- Resolution of Discrepancies: Discrepancies between metrics on the dashboard and customer ATS data have been resolved, resulting in more accurate and precise ROI metrics.
- Elimination of Time-Consuming Regenerations: The need for time-consuming data regenerations has been eliminated. The new architecture doesn't require manual data regeneration when you update the ROI rules. Instead, the new architecture automatically refreshes to align metrics with your updated rules.
- Improved Confidence: You can have greater confidence in the metrics reported. Metrics like "active placements" now align with your expectations, providing more reliable reporting.
- Consistency and Reliability: The architecture ensures consistency and reliability in ROI metrics. Placements that no longer comply with ROI rules are automatically excluded, maintaining data integrity.

▶ Defining the ROI Rules
Defining the correct ROI rules for your organization is a crucial step to get the correct metrics on the ROI page.
Follow the below-mentioned steps to set the ROI Rules:
- Log in to Sense.
- Navigate to Settings > Performance.
- Ensure that your organization has the rules defined for the “Current Placements” and “Completed Placements” to get accurate data on ROI metrics.
