[2] I'm encountering issues with audience lists where the criteria I set sometimes result in mismatched audiences. How can I avoid this problem?
Answer: If you're facing issues with your audience lists, such as getting more or fewer audience members than expected, it's crucial to double-check your rule sets. The problem often arises from incorrectly using rule operators like 'is,' 'contains one of,' or others in combination with the values you've added.
For example, if you're using a rule variable like 'occupational title' and set it to 'contains one of' ‘manager, vp, regional manager, vice, svp, director’, you'll end up with an audience list that matches occupational titles containing these specified values. This may lead to unexpected results, including titles such as 'Admin-IT Services' or 'Service Admin' due to the shared word 'vice.'
To address this issue,
- Carefully review your rule configurations and ensure they align with your intended criteria.
- Use the appropriate rule operators and values to accurately filter your audience.
- In the example provided above, you should consider removing the ‘vice’ word to get the precise audience you want with matching occupational titles. By doing so, you can prevent mismatched audiences and create more targeted lists.
