1. Identify Your Audience
Identify the audience that you will be reaching out to in your Data Enrichment touchpoint.
If you are reaching out to a broad and diverse audience (different industries, geographic locations, etc.), you should keep your questions general.
If you are reaching out to a specific audience (say only candidates that are in light industrial or nursing), you can tailor the conversation and questions more to your use case.

2. Make the First Message Count
Data Enrichment conversations, whether over web or SMS, are essentially a “cold-call” to candidates in your ATS. This means the first message they get from you needs to hook them in and tell them why they should click the link to talk with Reva or answer your text first message!
Web: The first point of contact in a web data enrichment conversation is actually before the conversation, it’s the email they get with the link to the conversation!
Should contain:
- A reminder of who your company is and what your previous relationship was.
- Information about what the conversation will be about.
- Information about why the candidate should answer your questions. What will happen at the end of the conversation? Will a recruiter reach out to them? Will they get an email confirmation? Will their profile be updated so they can get more tailored recommendations for job recommendations? Etc.
SMS: The first point of contact in an SMS conversation is the opening greeting message to the candidate.
Should contain:
- Dynamic <firstName> parameter to make the greeting more customized to the candidate.
- Introduction of Reva and your company
- Why you are reaching out.
- What’s in it for the candidate if they respond.
- End in asking the candidate if they are interested in having a text conversation.
for example: Hi, <firstName>! This is Reva, a virtual recruiting assistant from Blue Way Staffing. I’d like to make sure your profile is up to date so we can keep you posted on the most relevant job opportunities. Do you have a few moments to catch up over text?

3. Keep It Short
Since data enrichment conversations are “cold-calls,” keep them short. The fewer questions you ask, the more likely a candidate is to complete a conversation. Carefully choose your questions so you identify the highest priority information you are looking to collect.
RECOMMENDED # OF QUESTIONS FOR SMS: between 3-5 (not including greeting, closing, etc.).
RECOMMENDED # QUESTIONS FOR WEB CHAT: no more than 5-7 (not including greeting, closing, etc.).
